UNM suspends travel to Mexico amid swine flu fears

Amid the fears of the H1N1 (or "swine") flu, the University of New Mexico announced today that they are suspending all travel to Mexico. "This is a precautionary measure against potential exposure to the virus for staff, faculty and students and will remain in effect May 1-May 31, or until further notice," a statement from the university said. The statement also said that UNM is advising that "all UNM faculty, staff and students who are in Mexico for University business or programs

Now, Governor Schwarnegger has declared us in an emergency state for water and yet I feel for the most part, we still cling onto some sort of strange sense of false-security; we do not take

A Saudi Arabian girl, 8, married to a 47 year old man by her father to clear off this debt was finally granted divorce. The plea for the divorce was rejected twice by the court in Saudi Arabia. Water Rights Committee ( www.ncwaterrights.org ) is commending the Senate Finance Committee for its overwhelming vote of 27-2 in favor of Senate Bill 967 for the creation of the Yadkin River Trust on April 29. The bill now moves to the full Senate for a final vote among all members.
